How We Heal
Intensive outpatient rehab (IOP rehab) provides part-time addiction treatment in an accessible format. Centers generally offer intensive outpatient drug rehab and intensive outpatient alcohol rehab, and residents may enroll in either or both.
Participating in IOP drug rehab or IOP alcohol rehab in Los Angeles usually requires a few hours per day of treatment, and treatment days are normally a few days each week. There is no overnight stay, and participants are free to work, attend class or otherwise spend their time as they wish.
Recover With Us
Both intensive outpatient rehab and partial hospitalization rehab offer addiction treatment services in an outpatient setting. The two treatment options each have participants leave the facility during non-treatment hours (i.e. to spend nights at home), and the services offered by each treatment type are the same. In fact, many group sessions can have both IOP and PHP participants.
The primary difference between IOP and PHP is the time commitment required. PHP requires more hours per treatment day, and participants usually attend sessions each workday (and possibly on weekends). IOP participants spend less time when they have sessions, and they often only attend sessions a few days a week. Of course, the difference in time commitment translates to differences in convenience and cost. IOP schedules are more flexible than PHP schedules, simply because less time is required. IOP also tends to be more affordable, although insurance may cover both types of treatment.
Why Get Help With Us
Our Los Angeles IOP programs are effective for treating mild to moderate addiction. These programs are often used after more intensive programs so that the client can gradually begin applying what they are learning to everyday life.
The main benefit of our IOP in Los Angeles is that you still get the professional resources to battle your addiction while having a bit more freedom and accessibility. During your hours of treatment, you will have access to top medical professionals, counseling, and resources to learn how to live a sober life. However, you will still be able to go home at night and enjoy other obligations of your life.
How We Heal
Intensive outpatient drug rehab and alcohol rehab programs can be effective when used in a couple of different ways. Many patients who enroll in residential rehab programs eventually transition to lower-level programs, and IOP rehab is frequently one of those lower-level programs. As a successfully progresses through rehab, a normal course is to enroll in residential rehab, PHP rehab, IOP rehab and outpatient rehab sequentially.
Participants who don’t meet the clinical criteria for admission to a residential rehab center may be well-suited for receiving treatment at an IOP rehab center. Whether PHP or IOP rehab is more suitable is a determination that a qualified provider can make after meeting with a participant. Sometimes IOP rehab is chosen because the more intensive residential and PHP rehab programs aren’t viable options. If scheduling precludes enrolling in a more intensive program, IOP may still provide solid addiction treatment while accommodating other schedule obligations.
What We Do

Get Started
Health insurance policies frequently provide coverage for IOP drug or alcohol treatment, so long as the treatment is deemed necessary or appropriate by a medical provider. Insurance may pay for all or a significant portion of a program’s costs, depending on a particular policy’s coverages.
For those who aren’t insured, IOP rehab treatment can still be affordable. This form of treatment costs much less than residential programs do, since there’s no overnight requirement. IOP also tends to be more affordable than PHP, because the time required is less. In addition to these factors, financial assistance is frequently available to participants who don’t have insurance coverage.
Don’t tackle substance abuse alone. If partial hospitalization programs sound right for you, you can contact American BEST Healthcare today to learn more about PHP Southern California programs.
If IOP rehab sounds like it might be right for you or someone you know, contact us at Outpatient Los Angeles. One of our representatives will help you further explore whether this indeed is the best addiction treatment option for you.
